​Chris Tatam is a renowned artist, craftsman and art tutor from the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales. Educated at the University of Wales, Bangor. 

He has a wide range of experience and knowledge in the painting of landscapes and seascapes, using the mediums of watercolour, acrylics and mixed medium including the use of gold leaf. 

To date Chris has received many awards and accreditations for his work including a 1st at the National Eisteddfod of Wales and a highly commended at the Crafters Guild of Great Britain. He has successfully held many exhibitions of his work nationwide and been commended on Sky Arts. 

To date his work has been promoted and published across various mediums.

For over 20 years Chris has been teaching art throughout the United Kingdom and United States. He has successfully hosted many residential and non-residential art holidays across Europe, and for a number of years, been a popular art instructor for a range of cruise liners. 


In 2012 Chris began his first art at sea that stated his passion for cruising the world’s oceans,  to date he has completed 4 full world voyages. 


In August 2022, Cunard invited him to host their first ever Art & Design themed transatlantic week on Queen Mary 2 where he completed several master classes in acrylics, gold leaf and mixed medium. 


Chris is passionate about creating art and loves to inspire and teach. His style of tutoring is to create a fun and relaxed adventure into the joy of painting using a variety of techniques and subjects.

Chris is a dedicated member of the SAA (association of all artists). In addition, to his painting abilities, Chris is also a talented craftsman and is known for making Faberge style eggs out of real eggshells by Incorporating a range of materials from decoupage and enamel to create a unique work of art.

Primarily Chris is self-taught and was inspired and encouraged by his grandparents from a young age, who were both acclaimed artists. 

​

Chris currently resides in Wales U.K on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey. Where he has undertaken many seminars and exhibitions of his work. He is proud of his Welsh heritage and takes a lot of inspiration from the natural scenery of his homeland and this is reflected in his creations.
